National Senior Games
Q: How do I qualify to be eligible for the National Senior Games?
A: You may qualify for National Senior Games by your performance in the Virginia Senior Games.
Presently, the National Senior Games take place every other year. In order to participate in the 2019 National Senior Games, you must have already qualified in the 2018 games.
Q: Can my partner and I send in our registration on the same form?
A: No, all registrations are online only. Each athlete must register individually, where they will be prompted for their partner's name.
Track & Field
Q: What field equipment is available for athletes to use on site?
A: Athletes are required to bring their own equipment for field events. You may contact the VSG Track & Field event chair to see as to whether there will be equipment available to borrow: email@example.com
Q: Is the long jump running or standing?
A: The long jump is a running long jump.
Q: Virginia Senior Games does not offer a triathlon event. How can I qualify for the 2017 National Senior Games?
A: The NSGA defines a “limited” event as one in which an athlete can qualify in ways other than by participating in a NSGA qualifying games. Events that are considered “limited” are 20K and 40K cycling, hammer throw, pole vault, triathlon and the following non-ambulatory sports - bowling, horseshoes and shuffleboard. The rules for qualifying for these events are as follows.
Athletes must submit to the NSGA office by no later than April 15, 2017, a Limited Event Verification form, available from the NSGA office, along with a copy of the official results or other public document illustrating the results.
