Description: Prince William County, Department of Parks & Recreation has an exceptional full time career opportunity for a Planner II. Would you like to work in a progressive Department which provides challenging and rewarding work? Are you interested in long range planning and short term implementation? The Parks & Recreation Department is looking for you!

Parks will be updating its strategic vision and incorporating Prince William County's Strategic Vision into action plans. The primary duties of the position include:
Managing DPR's internal planning processes, including Needs Assessment surveys and analysis, park master plans, and prioritization of infrastructure development projects; leading DPR's Comprehensive Plan (Parks, Open Space, Level of Service sections) update efforts; managing case reviews and DPR's relationship with the County's Planning Office and Development Services division; performing advanced level professional work developing plans and programs for use of parks and open space in accordance with the County's overall Comprehensive Plan; conducting site analysis; reviewing site plans of subdivisions and final plats; working with our Trails Planner on incorporating trails into plan documents; and revising the Parks Inventory Guide.

Other duties include: Ensuring conformance with proffers, assisting with replacement schedule for facilities maintenance; assisting with Master planning processes; assisting with Design and Construction Manual updates for the Parks Section; Programming data collection and providing maps on request.
 
Work schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30a.m to 5.00p.m.
