TreeRunner Adventure Parks is looking for a qualified candidate to join their system of aerial challenge and zip lining parks. A job with TreeRunner Adventure Parks provides the opportunity to launch or advance a career in the popular and rapidly growing Adventure Course industry. We are seeking a full-time General Manager for our Raleigh, NC location – TreeRunner Raleigh Adventure Park. This position is a year-round leading a team of up to 25+ and overseeing all aspects of Park Operations. Position Description 

The General Manager is the senior most park employee on site responsible for all park operations and hiring. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record managing small businesses and leading youthful high energy teams.  

 

As the General Manager you would be responsible for hiring, training, and supervising all staff, creating work schedules, assertively correcting any interpersonal problems, handling HR concerns, and overseeing all aspects of a very busy park and office environment. The position is challenged with staff but also modeling prosocial behavior and serving as a professional mentor to help motivate staff to reach their utmost potential as efficient and happy workers. A primary focus of the General Manager is cultivating a positive work culture and creating a strong team dynamic among all staff.  

 

In addition, the General Manager will partner and effectively communicate with the sales and marketing teams and off-site management to ensure effective implementation of park operations, promotions, and programs. The manager should also interact with customers on site to gather feedback on their experience.  

 

The General Manager is also responsible for the overall park aesthetic including general equipment, course maintenance, grounds upkeep, and coordinating any work that needs to be done by outside vendors or contractors.    


Required Skills/Qualifications

 

  • College Degree

  • Minimum of two years of managerial experience with demonstrated skill in hiring staff, scheduling, and negotiating interpersonal relationships  

  • Strong communication skills and love of connecting people with the great outdoors

  • Demonstrated customer service background

  • Strong computer skills are preferred

  • Strong work ethic, professionalism, and personal motivation are a MUST

  • Willingness and ability to work long hours during the busy season (March-October)

  • Willingness to work outdoors in both hot and cold temperatures

  • Willingness to travel on occasion

  • Experience managing or working with high school and college-aged individuals is a plus

  • Required background check; subject to drug testing

  • Climbing/Ropes Course experience is not mandatory

 

Benefits

Salary Range: $40,000 - $45,000 base, plus bonus

Three weeks paid vacation (primarily used during the off-season)

Health/Dental/Optical Insurance

CPR/First aid/AED certification will be provided at no cost

About TreeRunner Adventure Parks

TreeRunner Raleigh Adventure Park is an “Aerial Adventure Park” perfect for ages 4 to adult. It is located on three acres and consists of over 69 platforms and 12 zip lines installed in the trees and connected by various configurations of cable, wood, and rope to form bridges and zip lines.  Groups of these bridges or "elements" link together to form separate courses through the trees. Although every course has at least one zip line, there is much more fun than just zip lining to be had! There are 8 trails in total with challenge levels suitable for every age and skill level, from beginner to expert. During this self-guided activity, each climber selects the trail(s) they are interested in and climbs at their own pace. The Junior Park was an added attraction to the Raleigh park this past season. It serves children ages 4 - 7 weighing 65 pounds or less.  

 

All our participants receive a thorough briefing before climbing and wear safety harnesses clipped to safety cables throughout their time in the trees. Our staff demonstrates how to use the equipment and our "always locked on" climbing system which utilizes interlocking clips. This innovative safety system virtually eliminates the potential of a climber becoming detached from a safety line while in the trees.

 

In 2015, a team of Michigan entrepreneurs founded TreeRunner Adventure Parks. Their current holdings include two locations in Michigan and one in North Carolina. The fourth location is currently under construction in Michigan.
